Never again Priceline

102 views | Posted @ 9:56 AM on June 14, 2010 by Lace

My fiance wanted to go to Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio for her birthday this past weekend so I went to look for some hotels. After hours of searching online, I picked out a pretty cheap hotel (thinking we wouldn’t be there but to sleep), I booked it through Priceline. That is the first and last time I will EVER use Priceline again and after reading the ConsumerAffairs.com Priceline reports, I should have done a bit more research.
After booking the hotel, my fiancee didn’t like that it did not have an indoor pool so I tried to cancel since I noticed a banner on their site that said “No cancelation fees.” Come to find out, I would have had to cancel a day BEFORE I even booked my hotel to no incur any fees. How the hell does that work? I booked Thursday at 3 am but the site said I would have to cancel on Wednesday. Why even have that misleading banner up then?  Fine, I decided I’ll stay at this hotel – once again, we’ll only be there to sleep.

Once we finally get to the hotel, the hotel tells us that we must pay them which I thought was a bit weird since Priceline told me I must pre-pay. Anyway, we pay them and have the receipt for somewhere close to $140. When I pull up my Priceline information, they charged me nearly $40 more for the same room, hotel and dates. The day we were supposed to leave, I check our credit card statement online and notice that Priceline has charged us now too, so we’ve got a charge from them AND the hotel. We call up Priceline again, and deal with their HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SUPPORT which offers no help, and tells us we have to get the hotel to refund us and they will not match the price or do anything in regards to the $40 extra they were charging us.
All in all, I learned to never deal with Priceline again or any other “hotel” booking site at that. If you’re looking for a hotel for a trip, contact the hotels directly – never use these online “travel agents” who will do nothing but rip you off then take your money and run.

On a brighter note, I’ll be posting some pictures of our trip and some great recommendations for Sandusky, Ohio.

Screw you Jehovas Witnesses!

Second time in a week that you Jehovas Assholes have visited my house. I am NOT interested in your brain-washing biblical bullshit as I just told you this morning when you decided to ring my door bell and wake me up at the ass crack of dawn.

I DO NOT BELIEVE IN “GOD” nor do I enjoy having ANYTHING pushed upon me..like your shitty cult!

jehovah witness bullshit
Looks like I’ll be going out and purchasing a “NO TRESPASSING” sign and maybe creating my own “NO JEHOVAS IDIOTS” sign as well!

By the way, this was in Westminster, Maryland. Some decrepit old man, young black lady and another old white lady in the getaway car. You know who you three are. DON’T ever step foot on my PRIVATE property again.

New Siberian Husky Puppy!

It’s definitely been some time since I’ve updated my blog and quite frankly, I wasn’t too worried about it but I figured I’d share some pictures of our new puppy.

The girlfriend and I have been wanting to get another dog for our dog now to play with. Our dog now is a Husky mix and if you know anything about Huskies, they get bored quite easily so what better dog to get then another Husky.

We searched through all of the shelters within 50 miles or so and found a bunch, including a beautiful girl, Kita. My girlfriend fell in love with Kita but when we took our dog now down to the shelter to meet her, unfortunately things did not go so well. We found some more at the Washington Animal Rescue League but since their employees were very rude, ignorant and couldn’t directly answer any of our questions before driving an hour and a half there, I decided not to even visit their shelter. After some searching, we found a ‘breeder’ on Craigslist who just had a litter of Siberian Husky puppies. We spoke to them via email and finally phone calls and setup a time to meet. My girlfriend had no idea I was driving two and a half hours away through treacherous snow and ice covered highways just to get her a nice Christmas present but it was all very worth it once I sent her a pic of her brand new puppy sitting on my lap. :)

Enough talk, here are some pictures of our new Siberian Husky puppy “Koda” and his new big sister!

It’s getting cold

Yup, getting cold out here. 53 degrees outside right now. Really wished we had the fireplace fixed and working – could go for some coffee in front of a warm fire!

I’m lazy – haven’t updated. I know. Will soon.

Was I sold a refurb Sprint Blackberry phone?

689 views | Posted @ 7:54 AM on August 25, 2009 by Lace

So, I’ve got a few things I will be posting about here in the next few days but I just have to post about this.

I have been with Sprint for over two years now, fulfilled my contractual agreement and put my phone on their seasonal standby so I could look elsewhere since they basically told me they couldn’t do anything for me. After looking at AT&T and their infamous iPhone, I decided to go back to Sprint. AT&T plans are ridiculous compared to what I pay at Sprint. So, I visit the Sprint store in Westminster mall and pick up a Blackberry Curve 8330 or something close (I cant remember the number nor do I care). I use it for a few days, it dies quickly and keeps locking up so I go back and find out I’ve got a bunch of programs running. Great, that’s my fault and let’s see if it gets better. It does, except for the battery part, which dies constantly, and the little sticker on it is red. Doesn’t red mean its been wet? I’ve had the phone for a few days at this point and say screw it – knowing it hasn’t been wet, or even scratched at this point!

Well lately, I’ve been getting these appointment notices or whatever you want to call them where it pops up and says “BBQ and Pool Party” – I don’t even know how to add notices, appointments or whatever else into this phone yet since I don’t use that feature. I let it go but this past Saturday, I get another one, “Jessica’s BBQ Party.” What the hell is this? I don’t know any Jessica’s except one and she surely wasn’t having a BBQ and/or pool party. The only thing that comes to my mind is this phone was refurbished and not completely cleared out before it was sold.

I wish there was a way to find out if this was a refurb that I bought AS NEW but I doubt there is. Guess that’s why I got a $100 mail in rebate, in addition to them trying to unload the older phones so they could bring out the new Curve.

Blackberry Phone app Trapster

I’ve been told I do nothing but complain so here is a nice review on an awesome application for Blackberry Phones that I recently found.

The application is called Trapster and it’s probably something I should have had a long time ago. Basically, this application for your Blackberry ultilizes your GPS functions on your phone and alerts you of all police radar traps, red light cameras and more. It’s completely ran by users and actually updated quite often. They also offer it for the iPhone, the Google Andriod, and even Garmins and TomTom’s! You can watch a video presentation on how this works here. The way their system is setup is awesome. They give credibility to users who report accurate speed traps and red light cameras. The credibility is given when more then one user reports a cop in that area and you build up your reputation over time.

So those of you who drive quite often or travel a lot, be sure to download this app to your PDA, SmartPhone or GPS today and save yourself from those hefty fines and increased insurance rates! The application is FREE, so you’ve got nothing to lose!

Bar Critic – Local bar review site

I’m sure some of you know about my site, BarCritic.com and how long I’ve had it. Well be on the lookout soon as I plan on getting this bad boy launched and you will be able to write your own reviews and look up some local bars in your area. I’ll be starting off first with bars in Maryland and slowly expanding as I surely don’t have the time or travel enough lately to write reviews on bars elsewhere.

If you have any suggestions, questions, comments or whatever else, feel free to post a comment and let me know!

Once I get the site up, running and some traffic being fed to it, I’ll be doing featured reviews and maybe even selling some ad spots – if you’re interested, contact me!

Lemme tweet that!

Yeah, I’m a #twitterholic and you love it.

Figured I’d update a few things here…

Comcast is now installed, but I HATE HATE HATE their digital cable menus up here + it’s slow as hell, so I’ll be looking into DirecTV very soon.

Bought a blackberry curve which I’m hating right now since it’s slow as molasses just like my ‘digital’ cable. Also dying very quickly and I haven’t even made any calls except one 2 minute one!

Still don’t have enough time in the day to get everything done…I immediately demand more hours in a day!

Happy Birthday Cari!!! Well, it was the fifth but I didn’t post it before. :)

Ok, it is now lunch time and back to work. Ciao! derp9t5h3g
