Birthday trip to Berkeley Springs

So, for my birthday, Cari had a wonderful trip planned out to head to a spa in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia. Basically, there are natural warm springs in the town and they have a ton of nice spas and retreats to have a nice relaxing and rejuvenating experience. She had plans to also go horseback riding, but since shotgun season just started, plans unfortunately got canceled.

The town of Berkeley Springs was pretty small, but had quite a bit of history which was awesome. They even had George Washington’s outdoor tub which you’ll see a picture of below. With it being below freezing with the wind chill, the 70 degree natural springs felt very warm.

We got there a bit early and decided to venture out a bit and found Cacapon Resort State Park. After taking a nice tour, we found a part of the trail to lead to the top of the mountain. We attempted to scale this beast but were not lucky enough to reach the top with me being lazy.

We ended up booking a “couples massage” at The Five Senses Spa inside The Country Inn at Berkeley Springs which turned out to be a pretty cool place. I would have liked a better view but the overall experience was wonderful, relaxing and my eyes were closed most of the time anyway. Larry and Michelle were our therapists that gave us our massages and we personally think they did great. To top it off, the prices were great for the services received.

I just want to thank you Cari for one of the best and most thoughtful birthdays ever. Even though we did not get to do everything, it was a great experience and I had an amazing time getting to enjoy it with you! Thanks again babe!

Enough talk, here are a few pictures.
