Why I even go to this place amazes me. I went out with Cari last night to grab some last minute gifts for the holidays and I made a huge mistake by even stepping foot in Owings Mills mall. This place completely sucks. From every other store being closed to the people working – there’s nothing even good to say about this place. Even the McDonald’s in the food court shut down recently! As if the mall wasn’t bad enough, the people and employees working in this place need five fingers across their face!
So, it ended with stopping by Bath & Body Works to grab a small gift basket for someone which I had eyed up earlier in the night. I walk in, make my pick and head to the counter to stand behind someone making an exchange. I’m standing there for a few minutes waiting with products in my hand and another woman walks up to the other side of the counter. Cari looks at me and says “She just cut in front of you.” Me thinking like any other normal person said “No, I doubt it. There’s no one working that side.” Damn if not a minute later, one of the employees walks up and begins to ring her stuff up. Do you NOT see me fucking standing there waiting? Is it because this mall is nothing but black people and I’m the sore fucking thumb white guy? I swear black people are just as fucking racist as white people – I don’t care what you say, it’s TRUE! Needless to say, I threw the socks back and put my gift basket back and walked out. That’ll be the last time I ever set foot back in that Bath and Body works or probably any at that. Actually, I hope this whole mall shuts down soon! Maybe they can build something useful like a park…doubtful but anything would be better than this shit hole.
If that wasn’t enough for you, I’d like to point out the cashier at Best Buy in Owings Mills who thought it was professional to chow down and crunch on sunflower seeds then spit them into her bottle WHILE ringing me up! How do these people get away with this shit? I’m not even going to get into the countless times I’ve seen these people texting and playing on their cell phones either…just like you dickhead cops in court!
And people wonder why they cannot keep a job and why they can’t make sales or even be profitable. I think this is one of the many problems with our economy since it sure as hell isn’t helping out any!
Thanks to MS, he told me about two awesome articles which talk about malls closing and stores leaving. Can’t always put all of the blame on our economy. How about you cut expenses and invaluable employees first?

Sounds like death is around the corner for this one, usually works out pretty good or at least here in Florida it does. They will usually rip the dead ones down and put in these new crazy ass outdoor malls that are so busy you don’t even want to consider going there. Pik your poison.

I agree…It is a complete joke. i live 3 minutes away from there, so trust me I know. Except you got one little thing wrong…OWINGS MILLS MALL HAS NO BEST BUY!!!! You think employees are the people who are wrong and making the mall a “mistake” . Its people like you that are making other people not go there. Its people like you that make those employees act that way in front of their customers. I surely know if I were an employee and my customer stormed out of my store that im working at like that, I would have cussed their fucking face off. Ok, I might be going off a little bit, but I hate it when BITCHES just like to run their mouths and say shit when first of all they dont even have their facts straight and second of all who knows if they ACTUALLY WENT THERE! White dumb ass nigga (thats right I called you one because a nigga is a crazy person who acts stupid, thats why white people who didnt like us called us that back in the day) with your ignorant racist ass. Why I’m going to waste my time responding is beyond me but I’m going to do it anyway.
I live three minutes from this mall and grew up here through my elementary school years. I know this mall inside and out. And I have nothing wrong, Best Buy is literally 3 minutes from the mall and still in this shitty ass area of Reisterstown some of unfortunately call home…for now.
And it’s people like me? When I’m spending my money and basically keeping YOUR job afloat, you need to respect me. Any person in retail will tell you, the customer ALWAYS comes first, regardless of your personal opinions or issues. And for you to say it’s people like me that cause these employees to act they way they do – where the fuck do you get this from? I am one of the most kindest people out there, specially when I’m in public. If you’re nice to me, I’m nice to you…You wanna screw me, I’ll screw you first. I never said one thing to these employees and ALWAYS, ALWAYS treat people with respect, unlike yourself. You would have ‘cussed their fucking face off’ – Yeah, okay…That would have you fired in two seconds and you would be back to claiming unemployment and crying about how you don’t have a job and cant afford to keep a roof over your head – but that’s my fault, right? Remember, you are working for your employer, not vise versa. When you’re in retail, you’re easily replaceable. It takes NO skill to run a cash register or find a product in a store.
If that’s not enough – talking shit and saying I’m a bitch and have not not been there? Read above, dickwad, I live three minutes from the mall and have lived here over 15 years ago – probably before you were born. Fifteen years ago when this mall actually had stores and quality customer service!
All in all, “nigga” (since you can call me a nigga, I’ll return the favor and it’s not something white people who didn’t like you called you back in the day – it was way before your time and your families family were slaves – get the fuck over it, we’re in 2009 dipshit and you’ve got a half black president – be happy for once…I know it’s hard) I have been to this mall plenty of times and each and every time it’s a problem. It doesn’t matter if the employees are white, black, Asian, whatever have you – IT’S ALWAYS A PROBLEM! Reisterstown is a fucking ghetto. The people are even worse then the town. Have some fucking respect for others and yourself once in awhile and it would make the world..or this shitty town a better place.

For one who lives in Owings Mills, I can say with utmost assurance that Owings Mills Mall might not even live to the end of 2010. With most stores closing for good, and with many employees I have spoken to today it appears that the Mall’s days are numbered. In general, with the access of the metro to the city via owings mills, Owings Mills in a matter of years is going to turn into a very bad part of the county. I am not pointing fingers at any particular race of people, just that the statistics show that Owings Mills and the outlying sectors around it are going to change, for the worse.
According to an employee of the now going out of business Borders, he told me that next two weeks are going to be critical, as this could outline the future of the mall in general. Frankly, I’d prefer Towson Town Center.
